Chanderi Wear For This Wedding Season

Indian handloom is having a major moment right now, and we are loving it! Amazon India Fashion week recently showcased The Road To Chanderi, celebrating the timeless fabric from Madhya Pradesh. The Spring/Summer 2017 trends are heavily influenced by chanderi, with 16 of India’s best designers presenting their beautifully crafted clothing in rich creams, gossamer golds and stunning jewel tones.

Some of our favorites include Payal Pratap, Atsu by Atsu Sekhose, Ikai by Ragini Ahuja, Bodice by Ruchika Sachdeva, Akaaro by Gaurav Jai Gupta, Péro by Aneeth Arora, Grassroot by Anita Dongre.

The show closed with Aditi Rao Hydari in a stunning black and gold lehenga by Raw Mango.

Taking a cue from Amazon India Fashion Week, Happy Shappy is celebrating all things chanderi – this light, luxurious and glamorous fabric is stunning for the upcoming wedding season. Whether a brightly hued saree with a rich border, or a pastel shalwar kameez with gold motifs, we are looking forward to getting decked out in the forever magnificent, forever classy, chanderi weave.
